This native Hawaiian tree is found from sea level to about 2,000 feet altitude. It thrives in hot dry regions, and grows up to 30 feet high. The flowers cluster near the brance tips and range from pale red to white. The flowers appear to look like the curved claws of an animal. You may use this design for your personal use or gifts only.  Above sample worked on 11 count ivory Aida using 4 strands of Anchor/Bates embroidery floss. Stitches used are full and three-quarter crosses.
